You've told us you like our forums, and we've listened.  We've doubled the number of presentations for Nutfest '11.
We will also have information booths from several ham-related organizations.
Foxhunting is a perennial favorite activity, but experts can sometimes be hard to find.
Our friends at NARL will show you the basics, then hold a hunt.
Some loaner antennas will be available.  Bring your own 2M HT.

And of course, plenty of commercial vendors and our huge flea market.

The Nutmeg Hamfest will once again host our popular demonstration of Emergency Communications Vehicles and Equipment including go-kits for personal use.  You'll be able to get up-close and personal looks at what others are doing, and get advice and ideas that you can incorporate into your own setup.  Just one more thing that makes the Nutfest Southern New England's Biggest and Best Hamfest.

Our Featured Speakers:

Steve Williams, K1SJW will speak about Skywarn.  With increasingly severe weather in Southern New England, this is sure to be an interesting topic for many.  Skywarn spotters are a critical aspect in getting timely and accurate reports when storms roll in.  Learn all about it at the Nutfest!

Norm Fusaro, W3IZ will be on hand to tell you everything you need to know about ARRL's Logbook of the World.  How to get started, how to update your contacts, tips, tricks, and traps, and more.  Norm is also a fully qualified DXCC card checker, including 160M, deleted countries, etc.  He'll be available to check your cards most of the day.

When it comes to digital communications, Steve Ford, WB8IMY literally wrote the book. He'll be talking primarily about JT-65.  Can you really have error-free contacts when you can't even hear a signal that's buried in the noise?  You bet!  Make plans to be there and get your digital mode questions answered.

Whether you're a QRP little pistol or a Legal Limit big gun, there's a lot more to Radio Sport (contesting) than "59-QRZ".  ARRL Contest Manager Sean Kutzko, KX9X has a dynamite presentation on how to have more fun with Ham Radio.  He's got some great tips for everyone from newly licensed Techs to seasoned Extras.  Exclusively at the Nutfest on October 9th

ARRL Forum with Betsey Doane, K1EIC, CT Section Manager;
Tom Frenaye, K1KI, New England Division Director;
and Mike Raisbeck, K1TWF, N.E. Vice Director

More Fun Stuff to do at The 2011 Nutfest

As always, we will have a display of em-comm vehicles and equipment

Our good friends from the NARL Foxhunting group will present an overview
of the basics, followed by a hunt on the grounds.
Get your questions answered, test your equipment, and maybe earn some bragging rights.

QCWA will have an information table.  If you've been licensed more than 25 years, stop by and see what they offer.

ECARS -- the East Coast Amateur Radio Service -- is one of the oldest and largest nets on the air.  They meet every day, all day on 7.255.  Representatives will man a booth to explain what it's all about.

Local Skywarn officials will be available to answer your questions on how to participate.

ARRL CT section manager Betsey Doane, K1EIC will have all the latest info from the League.
